Quercus pyrenaica

Ecological diversity within rear-edge: a Case Study from Mediterranean Quercus pyrenaica Willd.

Understanding the ecology of populations located in the rear edge of their distribution is key to assessing the response of the species to changing environmental conditions. Here, we focus on rear-edge populations of *Quercus pyrenaica* in Sierra …

Land-use legacies and climate change as a double challenge to oak forest resilience: mismatches of geographical and ecological rear edges

Global change challenges ecosystems in xeric locations transformed by intensive human use. Resilience to drought of relict Mediterranean *Quercus pyrenaica* populations in the southern Iberian Peninsula was analyzed in relation to historical records …

An ontological system based on MODIS images to assess ecosystem functioning of Natura 2000 habitats: A case study for *Quercus pyrenaica* forests

A system to monitor ecosystem functioning was developed. It downloads MODIS images and processes them automatically. We developed an ontology using this information to run complex queries about the functioning of *Q. pyrenaica* forests. The system generates useful knowledge to aid decision-making and reporting tasks
